Federal law (HIPPA) requires us to implement security measures for
protection of confidential health information. Therefore, the PACS
system records a log of your activities each time your PACS user name
and password access the RAPA PACS system.
Pursuant to the same regulations, RAPA's Security Officer must routinely
review this log to monitor User activity and to take steps to resolve
any security violations that may occur, including disabling access
to the PACS system for a specific User.
You are bound by HIPAA privacy regulations to access only the studies
and information that you require for the treatment of your patient(s).
There can be significant penalties imposed for violation of the HIPAA
Regulations, up to a fine of $250,000 and 10 years in prison. Therefore,
it is very important that you limit and control how your user name
and password are used.
Questions regarding this information can be directed to RAPA's Privacy
Office, Taunia Stadter, at 501/686-2635.
